The Red Tuxedo Swordtail pairs vivid red-orange color with a black band across the lower body. Males carry the signature sword, an extension of the lower tail fin that can reach 1–2 inches. Females are larger-bodied and just as colorful.
Swordtails are livebearers like guppies. We raise them in our own fish room, and availability is limited while the line grows. Check our eBay store for current stock.

Tank Mates
Swordtails are active, hardy community fish. They do well with similar-sized, peaceful tank mates such as platies, mollies, corydoras and larger tetras. Males may spar with each other but rarely cause injury, so give them room.
Skip fin-nippers and large or aggressive fish. As with any fish, anything small enough to fit in a mouth is food.
